Why did my rental fee authorization disappear and reappear?

When you place a rental reservation for a future date, we place an authorization hold for the rental fee to ensure funds are available. This pending hold is temporary, and the timing can vary depending on your bank.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Initial Authorization: When you make your reservation, a hold for the rental fee is placed on your card. This hold ensures the funds are available for your upcoming rental.
  2. Hold May Disappear: If your reservation is for a future date, the hold may fall off your account before we finalize the payment. This is normal and happens because the initial authorization is temporary.
  3. Charge on Pickup or Shipping Day: The day your order is picked up or shipped out, we process the actual payment. This may appear as a new charge, but it’s simply the finalized transaction.

Important Note: If you see the initial pending hold disappear and then see the final charge at a later date, you’re not being charged twice. The initial hold was never captured, and the finalized charge replaces it.
